Culinary plum

Prunus domestica L.

First described in England in 1813 by Hooker. Received by the National Fruit Trials in 1947 from R.D.Reid, Auchincruive, Ayr, Scotland. Fruits have firm, very juicy, acid flesh with little flavour. Makes good jam.
