Culinary plum

Prunus domestica L.

This variety is said to have been raised by Judge Whitesborough, New York, USA and introduced by Lombard of Springfield, Massachusetts. It was named in about 1830. Fruits have very soft, juicy flesh which is sweet and of fair flavour when ripe.
