Originally found in 1912 by G.W. Layley at Hillfoot Farm, Beenham, Berkshire and introduced in 1928. Rights were acquired in 1937 by Capt. C.H. Sykes. Fruits are fairly juicy with a sweet and fair culinary flavour.
