Russian Greengage

Dessert & Culinary plum

Prunus domestica L.

Thought to be of Russian origin. A variety of this name was known to be growing in the U.S.A. in 1940. Fruits have rather soft, quite juicy flesh with a moderately sweet and fair flavour. It lacks the true gage flavour.
