Saint Martin
Culinary plum
Prunus domestica L.
Thought to be of French origin. It was described in 1816 by Duhamel and introduced into England by Coe and renamed Coe's Late Red. It was received under this name by the National Fruit Trials in 1949 from Wrest Park, Bedfordshire. Fruits have firm, juicy flesh with a fair flavour.
