Thought to be of Dutch origin. Received by the National Fruit Trials in 1974 from the Fruit Research Station in Wilhelminadorp, Netherlands. Fruits have very sweet, juicy flesh with a good 'gage-like' flavour. Fruits tend to split. Said to grow well on its own roots.
