Dessert plum

Raised by Dowling of Southampton in about 1843. It was received by the National Fruit Trials in 1949 from G.M. Taylor, Longniddry, East Lothian. Fruits have fairly firm, moderately juicy flesh with a sweet, rich, high quality gage flavour.
