Culinary plum
Prunus domestica L.
Raised at Swainton, Yorkshire by Mr Tongdale. It was brought to notice by Rivers nurseries and first catalogued by them in 1869. Fruits have firm, little juicy to rather mealy flesh with an acid flavour.
