Apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

Raised between 1750 and 1800 by Mr Tamplin or Tampling of Malpas, Newport, Monmouthshire and distributed by his sister Cissy. It received an Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1902 as Tamplin. Fruits have firm, fine flesh with a slightly sweet, subacid flavour.
