Chenango Strawberry

Dessert apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

Originated either in Lebanon, Madison County, New York or brought into Chenango County from Connecticut. It has been known since about 1850. Fruits have tender, fairly firm flesh with a subacid and aromatic flavour.
