A disease resistant variety bred in 1958 at New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, Geneva, USA, from a complex parentage of Macoun, Antonovka, Golden Delicious, Rome Beauty and Malus floribunda.. Fruits have crisp, juicy, fairly coarse flesh with a subacid flavour.
