Raised by Mr G.T. Spinks, Long Ashton Research Station, Bristol in 1947. A seedling raised from a Dabinett/Stoke Red cross. A precocious, midseason flowering variety. Fruits are of medium size and firm. Produces juice with low acidity and medium tannin.
