Dessert apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

An irradiated mutation of Golden Delicious having some resistance to russet. It was developed at the National Institute of Agricultural Research, Angers, France and was introduced in 1977. Fruits have crisp, sweet, juicy flesh with a good aromatic flavour.
