Medaille d'OrCider apple Malus domestica Borkh.Raised in 1865 by M. Godard, Bois Guillaume, France. It was introduced into England in 1884 by the Woolhope Naturalists Field Club. The fruits are described as bittersweet with a sweet, astringent juice, high in tannins. Produces a cider with a high alcohol content and a strong fruity flavour.
