Schmidtbergers Rote Reinette

Malus domestica Borkh.

Raised in about 1832 by Liegel at Braunau, Austria. It was named after Schmidtberger, a pomologist at St Florian monastery. Fruits have firm, greenish white flesh with an acid flavour.
