Alexandre Lambre

Dessert pear

Pyrus communis L.

Raised by Van Mons in Belgium and first fruited in 1844. Named by M. Bivort in honour of his grandfather, an amateur arboriculturist. Fruits have white, melting flesh with a sweet, perfumed flavour.
