Chojuro
Dessert pear
Pyrus pyrifolia (Burm.) Nak.
Raised in 1895 by Mr Chojuro Toma, Kawasaki, Japan. Introduced to USA in 1939. Fruits have white, firm, coarse flesh with a mildly sweet and distinctive aromatic flavour.
