Raised by Mr Francis Dana at Roxbury, Massachusetts, USA. Named in honour of Mr C.M. Hovey, a well known nurseryman of Boston and author of 'The Fruits of America'. Fruits have tender, melting, juicy, sweet flesh with a rich, perfumed flavour.
