Count Althann's Gage
Dessert plum
Prunus domestica L.
Raised in Bohemia, Czechoslovakia, by Prochaska, gardener to Count Althan, between 1850 and 1860, and introduced to England by Rivers before 1867. Fruits have medium firm, juicy flesh with a fairly sweet and rich flavour.
