Raised in about 1930 at Dursley, Gloucestershire, by J.W. Thornhill. It was introduced in 1956 by Matthews Fruit Trees Ltd., Thurston, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Fruits have coarse flesh with a sweet and insipid flavour.
