Culinary plum

Prunus domestica L.

Raised at Bedford by Laxton Bros. and introduced by them in 1938. Self-fertile. Fruits have fairly firm, juicy flesh with a moderately rich and pleasant flavour. A culinary plum of almost dessert quality.
