Prunus insititia L.

Thought to be of French origin. It was received by the National Fruit Trials in 1948 from the Centre de Recherches Agronomiques, Pont-de-la-Maye, France. Fruits have soft, moderately juicy flesh with a very sweet and moderately rich flavour.
