Culinary plum

Prunus domestica L.

Found in a hedge by a farm labourer called Diamond of Brenchley, Kent. It was introduced by Hooker, a nurseryman of Brenchley in 1830. Fruits have soft, not very juicy flesh with a rather acid flavour.
