Lane's Prince Albert

Culinary apple

Malus domestica Borkh.

Thought to have been raised in about 1840 by Thomas Squire, Berkhamsted. It was introduced by John Lane in 1850. Received First Class Certificate from RHS in 1872. Fruits are very juicy and acid. Cooks well.
